Having founded several companies in the past, Landon is currently focused on Path2Proximity. Path2Proximity will pursue leading-edge strategies that promote positive and reciprocal human and animal/nature interactions where they are needed the most.

How do we create a world in which those of us who want it can live and age in symbiosis with animals and nature? This was the question that Landon asked himself. A question that led to him creating a company committed to this goal: Path2Proximity.

This venture is bringing together three of Landon’s passions. A life-long love of animals and the natural world. A particular interest in how we age. The third? A deep commitment to collaborative innovation. Landon believes that in a world increasingly aware of species loneliness, a confluence of factors and a convergence of events have led to an unprecedented longing for reconnection. People are now receiving nature prescriptions, writing letters to trees, walking in nature with their therapists, interacting with robotic animals, using AI to communicate with non-human species, willing their animals millions of dollars, eating lab-grown meat, and so on.

An early goal of Path2Proximity is to bring together a community of like-minded individuals with a shared desire to see the connection between people, animals, and the natural world reestablished. A unique group of people, leaders in their respective fields, on the cutting edge of human discourse and knowledge, able to address this fundamental question. This will be known as The Path2Proximity Collective.

One of the simplest connections to nurture is that between humans and birds. Path2Proximity is already engaged in launching VitalVisitors. These are novel bird feeding systems designed for healthcare environments, installed on the exterior windows of patients’ rooms, providing risk-free human/bird interaction. It has been shown that just a window in a hospital room can improve outcomes, so a window full of life and renewal is even better.

Landon’s ultimate vision for Path2Proximity is a place unlike anything that exists today –The Proximity2 Center, a physical location where people facing the end of life can immerse themselves in the natural world and the animal world. The Proximity2 Center will be a unique blending of hospice care, social farm, and educational institute. Simultaneously a step into the future and a return to a symbiosis with nature that we humans once had and have largely forgotten.

“Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.”
